RECORDING EQUIPMENT

Every demo that you can hear on my website has been recorded with the following:

AUDIO TECHNICA AT2035

Designed for home audio recording, music and sound projects, professional studio applications and live performances. With a rugged all-metal construction, this side-address cardioid studio condenser microphone delivers exceptional detail and low noise.

Shock mounted and with XLR outputs, the AT2035 is equipped with a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to remove unnecessary low-end noise. If you’re wanting to record big voices or big instruments (particularly brass and drums) the 10 dB pad helps prevent the condenser from overloading, meaning the AT2035 handles high sound pressure levels with ease.

ACOUSTIC FOAM + WINDSCREEN

The treatment of the room you record in is more important than your choice of microphone. Acoustic foam absorbs reflections, echoes and reverberations of sound waves that have bounced off walls and flat reflective surfaces of the room you are in.

A foam windscreen helps to reduce plosives, breathing noises, as well as protecting the microphone.

BLANKETS + PILLOWS

Anything that has the ability to absorb reflections and bouncing soundwaves is good to have around when recording, and you wouldn’t believe what a difference some blankets and pillows make!
